Become A Heart Hero!
CPR awareness and performance remain low in our community.
When someone suffers a cardiac arrest or heart attack—whether in public or at home—their survival heavily depends on bystanders stepping up to administer urgent, potentially life-saving CPR.
Statistics show that 95% of the time, CPR is performed on someone the rescuer knows or loves—this could be a family member, a colleague, or a friend.
Administering CPR can drastically improve survival rates.
It could be your hands that make the difference.

Our Story
Graeme Tulloch, a secondary school teacher in Mildura, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while cycling on Walnut Avenue.
Bystanders performed CPR for eight minutes, saving his life. Inspired by his near-death experience and the passing of Shane Warne, Graeme decided to promote CPR awareness.
Understanding that 95% of CPR cases involve someone known to the rescuer, he made it his mission to offer free CPR training. Teaming up with his friend Phil Kettle—who also lost a loved one to cardiac arrest—they founded Hands on Heart Australia.
Supported by the Mildura Lions Club, Angela Izard First Aid, and local sponsors, this non-profit provides free CPR training to the community, with a strong focus on educating children.

Our Mission
Hands-on Heart Australia, a community initiative by the Mildura Lions Club, is dedicated to improving survival rates for individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest in Mildura and surrounding areas. Through increased awareness and access to training, we aim to build a more prepared and responsive community.
We are committed to offering free CPR training to increase the number of people equipped to respond effectively in emergencies. Our goal is to train an additional 2,000 individuals in basic CPR over the next three years—giving more people the confidence and skills to act when it matters most.
Hands-on Heart Australia is a not-for-profit initiative run by volunteers and supported by donations from local businesses and individuals, ensuring our CPR courses remain free and accessible to everyone.
